Throughout my career, I’ve been so privileged to share stories that have touched me through my segments on non-profits and individuals making a difference; and my other one on Michigan companies (both small and large). I left WWJ Newsradio 950 in August where I anchored PM drive and middays. Throughout my 8 years there, I found myself behind the microphone during historic moments— including the overturning of Roe V. Wade— and built lasting connections with the community. I also worked at WKAR, Lansing’s NPR station, as host of the Morning Edition. Along the way, I've been lucky enough to snag a few awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.
Born and raised in Wayne County; acting played a big role in my life when I was young. It helped me overcome a speech impediment and eventually lead me to California where my broadcasting career began.
In my downtime, you'll find me savoring simple pleasures like tamales, singing to Barry Manilow, and occasionally braving skydiving, despite my fear of heights. Coffee is my constant companion, but my heart belongs to my eleven-year-old twins, who couldn't be more different, but bring so much laughter and love to my life.
When I'm not wearing my "mom hat" or working on the podcast, I’m out in the community, trying to make a difference. I'm often asked to emcee charity events, and I'm particularly proud to support MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), a cause that's close to my heart.
At the end of the day , I’m like everyone else hoping to make an impact on this world - with a cup of coffee.. or two.
While I was not born in Michigan I consider myself to be a Michigander. I grew up in west Michigan and have done most of my adulting in the Detroit area. I went to college in Wisconsin where I enjoyed living among cheeseheads and Packer backers while I earned my Bachelor degree in history, English and education and immersed myself in the food scene as I worked as a server in a variety of restaurants when I was not in classes.
I love to travel which emerged when I spent a semester in the Connacht region of Ireland living in a traditional Irish thatched cottage and was further cemented when I served two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Poland teaching English as a foreign language.
I have a Masters degree in Library Science which has prepared me to be a hunter and gather of resources and information and a collector of stories. I enjoy puzzles and games- never quite got into Wordle but love Connections and Strands.I am an aspiring bird watcher and I dabble in crafts.
I am a proud mom to my four amazing kids and a devoted wife to my dear husband of more than 25 years.
