Hi there — I'm on a mission to help women feel more connected with one another through my podcast!

Meet Brooke

When I turned 50 it didn’t really dawn on me that I was literally halfway to a hundred. It took a divorce, a career change and my twins heading into middle school to realize – I am on the backend of my life and panic began swirling around me. I needed to lose weight, maybe investigate botox and decide exactly WHEN I was taking that dream vacation to Paris –

Halfway to a hundred – is not just about aging gracefully – but also caring for those that are already there. Caring for the elderly loved ones in my life has always been a priority for me, and a joy. I was so close to my grandparents that I called them Mom and Dad. When they began to decline in health and questions followed – how do you pick an assisted living facility – maybe even more importantly – how do you pay for it? How do you say, “it’s time to stop driving?” and then deal with the look in their eyes as they suddenly realize not only the car is gone, but their independence. Suddenly everyone is getting used to new modes of transportation – a wheelchair, a walker, a hospital bed now in their bedroom. Of course these are not the only topics that come up-wills and funerals and grieving all rear their ugly ends as well. Resources are hard to find – so this segment is meant to help both the elderly and their caregivers find the help they need, but also the joy they deserve.
